NWRCT Annual Report 2023-2024

From the Executive Director …

In honouring our relations, I express my deep gratitude to the NWRCT team, who have worked with dedication and love for the work and community we serve. Your unwavering dedication and wholehearted commitment to the Centre and to the community is what maintains hope and success for the future of each person who enters the Centre. As part of the leadership of the agency, witnessing your growth and finding your gifts is as important as the community we serve. I am grateful to be a part of your journey and to watch you elevate the community through your efforts.

With our funders and donors, we maintain meaningful programming and operations. It is through your support and kindness that we can truly serve Indigen-ous women, children, and the community, fulfilling our purpose, mission, and vision. NWRCT is a unique and special home with leading programs and services, leaving impacts for generations to come. Miigwetch for contributing to our work.

We are all united by a sacred bundle, which is led by a dedicated Board of Directors who are wholeheartedly committed to the agency and community. With their support, knowledge, and passion, this group of women has contributed to the success of my role and the agency. While working from behind the scenes, you have elevated both me and the community.

Our Healers, who bring culture and spirit to the forefront, are what our mandate and efforts are foundationally built upon. You support the leadership, team, and community, offering ceremony and support. Without you, we’re not who we are: thank you for always reminding us of who we are and what we are capable of.

In the past year, we saw great success in programming and an increased demand for traditional support and clinical therapy. We were able to support more than 12,188 community members with hot meals, provision of essential needs, and more than 2000 ceremonies, programs, and public events.

We amplified the voices of Indigenous women, raised awareness, amplified our profile, made new friends, and increased our revenue – and we aim to continue doing this while leading on a pathway for all Indigenous women to elevate their voice and reclaim their space. We commit to offering the programs and supports the community wants and needs.

This year and every year, I am humbled by the work of everyone around me and the community that we serve. My role is of the utmost honour, and my dedication to this community will not waver.

Chi Miigwetch!
