Chelsea Fennell is an urban Mi’kmaw woman, living in Toronto, with maternal ties to Chapel Island First Nation. She is a passionate human resources practitioner who has been working in the non-profit sector for the last 4 years.

Currently, Chelsea works as a Human Resources Advisor with the YWCA Hamilton. She previously served as HR Specialist at Indspire, a national Indigenous charity.

Chelsea completed her undergraduate studies at Queen’s University, with a focus in history and gender studies, before moving into human resources. She studied Human Resources Management at York University and is currently working toward her Certified Human Resources Professional (CHRP) designation.

Chelsea is deeply connected to work that serves and supports women in our communities. In addition to her work on the Board, she has been fortunate enough to hold a volunteer role on the Fundraising Committee at Anduhyaun Inc, an Indigenous women’s shelter in the city, for the last 2+ years.
