    One-On-One Tutoring

    Mondays, Tuesdays and Fridays (by appointment only)

    Nbaakaawin Kwe Education Centre offers one-on-one tutoring to Indigenous (First Nations – status or non-status, Inuit, Metis) self-identifying women. Learners ages sixteen and older, are paired with a tutor to improve on subjects such as: math, English, computer skills, and life skills. This is wonderful opportunity for those interested in returning to school, increasing their independence, or gaining job readiness skills. One-on-one tutoring appointments are available throughout the week depending on tutor availability.

    ~ Online Learning ~ Computer Lab

    Starting  January 28th, this class runs every Monday (Except Feb 18, 2019)

    The Nbaakaawin Kwe (Wisdom Woman) Education Centre is offering a new computer lab. Participants can pick from a number of online classes, including: G1 Drivers Test Prep, Money Matters, Customer Service, Mindfulness, and much more! You can work independently on your course or with tutor support.  This series welcomes Indigenous (First Nations – status or non-status, Inuit, Metis) self-identifying women who are interested in learning Anishinaabemowin.

    This education series is now full. If you are interested in other Computer Literacy classes please register with NWRCT`s Education Program. Contact  Terez, Education Coordinator to set up an appointment (email:education@nwrct.ca phone:416.963.9963 ext. 238)

    Drop-In

    Drop-In (Personal Needs Support Program)  is accessible two days/week Tuesdays 10am-12:15pm and Thursdays 1:30pm-3:45pm on a first come first serve basis – Limited to one visit per client per week.

    Available services:

    – clothing bank
    – toiletries
    – showers Available on Thursdays
    – free laundry services (one load/week) Available on Tuesdays

     

    *Please note: Drop-In closes between 12:30 – 1:30 pm for lunch hour.

Language keeper John Roy is the leading the group. Classes are broken up into two parts: Part I – November23-December 6, Part II-January 15- February 7)

    Dinner is at 5:30 p.m. Drumming starts at 6 p.m. and runs till 8 p.m. Open to all self-identifying women and two spirit (Indigenous and non-Indigenous). No experience needed. Tokens provided.
